The Newark Public Library will host “Generations: The Puerto Rican Diaspora in New Jersey and Beyond” on Wednesday, September 16 at 6 p.m. in Centennial Hall on the library’s second floor at 5 Washington Street. The event is part of the 2026 Latino Lecture Series, presented in partnership with the New Jersey Hispanic Research and Information Center, Friends of HRIC, and Puerto Rican Day Parade Inc.
The evening will feature an intergenerational conversation led by influencer Dean Huertas exploring the history, experiences, and evolving identity of New Jersey’s Puerto Rican community across generations. The panel includes attorney Wilfredo Caraballo, entrepreneur and nonprofit executive Nico Caraballo, award winning author Adriana Erin Rivera, and Judge Myrna Milan.

The event is free and open to the public, with light refreshments served.
