Emmy Award-winning comedian and actress Amy Schumer will embark on a 50-plus city world tour this fall, including her first play at Newark’s Prudential Center on September 28. The Rock has previously hosted some of the biggest comedy acts in the world, including back-to-back sold-out Kevin Hart shows in 2015.
Schumer is one of the entertainment industry’s leading forces as a standup comedian, actress, writer, producer and director. She is the creator, star, writer and executive producer of Comedy Central’s award-winning Inside Amy Schumer.
Inside Amy Schumer won the 2015 US Writers Guild Award for Best Comedy/Variety Sketch series. Last autumn, the show was honored with the first-ever Emmy Award for “Outstanding Sketch Variety Series.” Schumer was also nominated for “Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series” and “Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series.” She received honors for “Individual Achievement in Comedy” and “Outstanding Achievement in Comedy” from the US Television Critics Association in 2015. Additionally, she was awarded (US) The 2015 Critic’s Choice Television Award for “Best Actress in a Comedy Series.” Among the show’s many accolades, it also received the prestigious Peabody Award in 2014.
