Summer is my absolute FAVORITE season of the year!  I look forward to it all year.  The weather, the more laid back schedules, the fresh fruits and veggies, evenings on the backyard patio – I love it all! {well… except the mosquitos!}.  We also love BBQing and having our meals outdoors.  Our patio is east facing so I can get some morning sun while having my breakfast and enjoy the cooler shade once the later afternoon hits. Continue reading at .cleanandscentsible.com >>>

See the mountains through the moviemaker’s lens. For nearly 100 years, filmmakers have been captivated by high peaks and mountain slopes. This silver-screen adventure takes you from the High Sierras to the Wetterhorn, and from Charlie Chaplin to 21st-century award-winners like Grand Budapest Hotel and Murder on the Orient Express. Whether it’s romance, adventure, action or comedy, it’s mountains that have the starring role.

Highlights

• Curator Tricia Laughlin Bloom will highlight the connections between filmmakers, landscape painters, and early photographers and writers who traveled into the mountains.

• The Rockies & The Alps exhibition open before and after the program for viewing.

THE MODERN ETIQUETTE GUIDE TO HOSTESS GIFTS

hostess-gifts-guide-2015Not all hostess gifts come equal… While you may bring a good bottle of wine or a designer scented candle to a dinner party, you’ll want to splurge a little more if you’re staying with someone for a few days to a week.

If you have no idea how much you should be spending on a hostess gift, a good guide to follow is to estimate how much they’re spending on your dinner/stay/etc. If you’re ravaging their fridge and wine cellar every day for a week, it might warrant a bigger present than if you were simply crashing their couch, and drinking their tap water for two days.

Keep your budget in mind while shopping too. While you might want to splurge on a nice gift for a friend who’s hosting you over the Holidays, there’s no reason to open a credit line for it. Make sure you’re comfortable with what you’re spending, and that goes for all gifts. CONTINUE READING AT SAVVY HOME
