The first session, called Monster Claws, is set for Thursday, August 13. It will be followed by Solar Powered Creatures on Thursday, August 20, and Monster Mouth on Thursday, August 27. Each activity blends machine-based and science-inspired craft projects designed to give kids and families a chance to build something hands-on while learning basic concepts tied to the theme, whether that’s how solar panels convert energy or the mechanics behind simple moving parts.

Visitors can drop in anytime on the scheduled dates to take part, since no registration is required. The programs are part of the branch’s broader push to bring STEAM programming, meaning science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
