The City of Newark’s Office of Violence Prevention and Trauma Recovery (OVPTR) is hosting a Mental Health Walk on Friday, May 22, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Weequahic Park, Meeker Entrance.
The free community event aims to raise awareness around mental health, reduce stigma, and bring neighbors together in a show of solidarity and support. Organizers describe the walk as an opportunity for residents to start meaningful conversations, advocate for wellness, and demonstrate compassion for those navigating mental health challenges.
The event is open to all and takes place at one of Newark’s most beloved green spaces. For more information, follow @cityofnewarknj and @ovptr_newark on instagram.
