Integrity House, a nationally recognized non-profit substance abuse rehabilitation center with locations in Newark and Secaucus, hosted a Women’s Recognition Celebration as part of its long-standing commitment to provide support and educational programs to aid clients in their recovery and help cultivate a new positive lifestyle. More than 100 women, including clients, staff and board members were present for the event held at Integrity House’s Secaucus campus on March 31, 2014.
Antoinette Ellis-Williams, scholar, minister, activist, poet and artist, was featured as the keynote speaker at the event. Ellis-Williams read poetry from her newly-released publication “Black Gardenias,” a collection of poetry, short stories and sayings dedicated to women from many different areas of life and their struggles against and triumph over various forms of oppression. Ellis-Williams shared an inspiring message of hope with Integrity’s clients, as they continue on their road to recovery, long-term success and happiness.
“We are consistently seeking ways to improve our programs and educational resources for clients, and we aim to do so by hosting events like the Women’s Recognition Celebration to provide them with the knowledge, resources and inspiration to thrive in our treatment program and beyond,” said Robert Budsock, CEO & President of Integrity House. “I’d like to recognize the women from our Newark and Secaucus residential programs, who planned and coordinated this highly successful and beneficial event to help support the many women in our Integrity family. We are also very thankful to have someone as influential and inspiring as Antoinette visit our campus, participate in this event, and enrich and empower our clients.”
Following Ellis-Williams’ presentation, several Integrity House clients spoke about their experiences, and several Trustee and staff members were honored with Certificates of Recognition.
