Community FoodBank Of New Jersey Voted Best Nonprofit

FoodBank_logo_The Community FoodBank of New Jersey, the state’s largest anti-hunger and anti-poverty organization, was named “Best Nonprofit” by NJBIZ’s inaugural Reader Rankings survey.

According to NJBIZ, thousands of “clients, colleagues and peers of businesses in New Jersey” voted for the best organizations in 52 categories, including philanthropy, health care and real estate.

“What makes the companies listed here distinct is the devotion they inspire among our region’s business leaders,” NJBIZ said.

For more than 40 years, the FoodBank has been on the front lines of combating hunger and poverty across New Jersey, where 1 million residents struggle with food insecurity. The FoodBank provides nutritious food through its community partners – including food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters – and through a range of innovative programs that serve food to children, seniors and families in need.

Last year, the FoodBank distributed more than 50 million pounds of food (equivalent to about 42 million meals). Every day, its warehouses in Hillside and Egg Harbor Township see hundreds of volunteers who lend their helping hands and representatives of local organizations who receive food from the FoodBank to distribute among people in their communities.
