The West Hudson St. Patrick’s Day Parade returns this Sunday, March 15th, marking 50 years of Irish pride across our community. Organized by the United Irish Associations of West Hudson, the parade steps off at 1:00 PM from North & South 3rd Street at Harrison Avenue and makes its way through Harrison, East Newark, and Kearny before finishing at Kearny Town Hall. A favorite tradition returns as volunteers paint the green line along the parade route — a familiar symbol guiding marchers and spectators through West Hudson.
This year’s Grand Marshal is Kevin Quinn, celebrating both the parade’s 50th anniversary and his own 30 years as president of the United Irish Associations. Deputy Grand Marshals Michael Patrick Conlon and Ellen McGirr‑Murray also bring deep local roots and decades of community involvement to this year’s celebration.
