As reported by https://www.tapinto.net people experiencing hardships in the greater Newark area will get a chance to warm up in a sweet event set for West Side Park this week.

The event, to be held at the West Side Park Community Center, 600 South 17th St., in Newark on Wednesday, Jan. 24, will offer local families and community members free winter coats, donated by Jersey Cares, and groceries, the nonprofit United Community Corporation announced.

“Our ‘Cookies, Coats and Cocoa’ event is a great opportunity for our community to access some delicious treats while receiving free coats for their families to help relieve the burden of purchasing these costly winter items,” UCC Executive Director Craig Mainor said in a news release.
